Individual advising appointments are a great way for students to receive attention specific to their career goals and needs. Students, as well as parents and guardians, may find the time very valuable in having their questions answered and assisting with educational planning and career preparation.
Group Presentations and Guest Speakers
Career Coaches give a variety of presentations intended to help students make confident, informed decisions about their futures. Most presentations are tailored to the particular needs of the students, school(s), and the local workforce. General presentations are geared towards college and career readiness topics such as:
- Job market trends and predictions
- Employability skills and work ethics
- Resumes
- Job interviews
- ACT/SAT/AP Exam preparation
- College knowledge
- Scholarships and financial aid
- High-wage, high-demand occupations
- Non-traditional career pathways
Guest speakers are enlisted to present on specific careers and occupations. This is a great opportunity for community members, parents and business and industry partners to share their personal stories with students related to career pathways.
